Shakeology vs. Isagenix

In this edition of Shakeology vs. we will compare Isagenix. If you have never heard of Isagenix, it is also a meal replacement shake that founders John Anderson and Jim and Kathy Coover have created to try and help the obesity problem around the United States. It comes in two main flavors: chocolate and vanilla.

The positives of Isagenix is that it contains 23 grams of protein per serving (compared to Shakeology’s 18 grams of protein per serving). Isagenix, like Shakeology, also contains many naturally occurring ingredients which set them apart from other meal replacements. However, I have not found other components that set Isagenix apart from Shakeology.

On the negative side, Isagenix contains 1100% more fat than Shakeology (6 grams compared to less than half a gram). It also contains more cholesterol and sodium than is found in Shakeology and contains 240 calories per serving when Shakeology only has 150 calories per serving.

Isagenix lacks to potency of the vitamins and minerals that Shakeology contains. Isagenix has only 40% of the daily recommended allowance of Vitamin C versus 300% in Shakeology.  It lacks significance of other vitamins contained in every Shakeology drink such as Vitamin B1, B2, and B3. You would actually have to drink 2-4 Isagneix shakes to get the same concentration of vitamins and minerals found in just 1 Shakeology shake.

I do feel that Isagenix is one of the better meal replacement shakes, but it just does not compare to Shakeology. Shakeology is a step above the rest.

  1. Just looked at the ingredients on the shakeology website and it says on the bottom…”additional ingredients: Fructose”

    • This is very true, Shakeology contains Fructose as its natural sweetener. Fructose is a natural sweetener found in many plants. It is NOT high fructose corn syrup, so don’t get those two confused.

      • Your article makes NO sense! You say that Isagenix shakes contain fructose, then you point out why it’s harmful, all while not mentioning that Shakeology also contains fructose. THEN when it’s pointed out to you, you completely sidestep and say that it’s not high fructose corn syrup. Are you insinuating that Isagenix contains high fructose corn syrup? Are you saying that Isagenix contains artificial ingredients? Be careful in your words, they could buy you a lawsuit.

      • I don’t quite know what what it is that you are getting at. In the very comment you commented on it says that yes Shakeology contains fructose, which is NOT high fructose corn syrup. They are two different things. Fructose is found in many fruits. That is easy to find just using the internet because Beachbody is not afraid to post anything about their product. However, it is almost impossible to find anything about what is in Isagenix besides everything they want you to know. The artificial sweetener that they use is far from the point that I am trying to make in this post. I am sorry that it upset you. Are you an Isagenix drinker?

  2. The body is incredible. It knows how to cleanse itself if we will give it the chance. Nutritional cleansing and healthy dietary practices let the body do what it is capable of doing. Assisting the process with revitalizing nutrients and supplements is what we can do to facilitate a healthier body and the highest-quality lifestyle possible.
