If you are trying to lose those extra pounds and get a nice, firm stomach you have to start in the kitchen. You can do all the crunches and sit ups you want, but if you have not changed your diet it is going to be hard to get the results you want. Remember, being healthy is a life change, not just a fitness change.
Out With The Old
Before starting your body transformation, I encourage you to go through your kitchen and throw out all the old, unhealthy foods. Get rid of all the candy, the potato chips, the soda, the sweets, the unhealthy foods. Get rid of it ALL. Trust me, it might be extremely hard to do, but in the end you will thank me. If you don’t, it is going to be extremely tempting to get into that pantry and have one or two chips, or half of your diet coke. But, before you know it you have eaten the entire bag. Don’t tempt yourself and just get rid of it all.
In With The New
Now this is the hardest part, or at least it was for me. Once I got rid of all the junk, I didn’t know what to fill my kitchen with. To help with this, I strongly recommend reading the nutrition labels as you shop for your groceries. Really stay away from foods with a lot of sodium and try to buy fresh foods (especially fresh fruits and vegetables). Stay away from white breads, white rice, and pasta. Look for whole grain foods. When it comes to meat, look for organic (if not, you are buying chemically packed meats with all kinds of hormones in it).
Now I know what you are saying, “how am I going to enjoy eating?”. Trust me, I LOVE FOOD. This was a hard change for me, but once I got creative I really learned how to make meals that tasted really good. Look for healthy recipes (the internet is a great source). I promise, it is not as hard as it my seem. You can also look at the “healthy meals” on this blog. I will post new recipes regularly to keep you updated on new ideas.
The 5 Meals a Day Plan
I strongly encourage you to get onto the 5 meals a day plan. The 5 meals are breakfast, lunch, dinner, and two snacks. This means your will be eating something every 2-3 hours. If is good to eat often so that you keep those cravings down (when you get the cravings, you don’t ever crave healthy foods). Also, when dinner comes around you won’t be starving. You will be able to eat a smaller dinner and not take in all the calories.
When you think of the word “diet” don’t think of some crazy plan that you see on TV or you hear about from a friend. The word “diet” simply means “watch what you eat”. It might be hard at first, but I promise it gets easy and you will love the results.
Lastly, I strongly recommend trying Shakeology. It is an entire meal in a glass (and it tastes like a dessert). You can substitute Shakeology for any meal of the day and it contains ALL of the nutrients need for a healthy meal. Not only that, but it cuts down on your grocery bill. I encourage you to try it, and if you don’t like it you can always send it back and get your money back. To order your Shakeology meal (or to learn more about it) simply click on “Shakeology Order Now!” under the Shakeology tab, then click “order now” in the top right corner.
